The short version
Text you analyse with our tools never leaves your device. Calculations run in your browser. We don't have an account system, we don't ask for your name, and we don't sell data. We do show ads, and we use a few standard third-party services for traffic measurement, abuse prevention, and email delivery. The rest of this page explains exactly what each of those does.
Information we collect from you directly
The only time we collect information you type is when you submit the feedback form. That form asks for an optional email address and a message. We use it to reply to you and, if relevant, to fix a bug or build a calculator you requested. We don't add feedback emails to a marketing list.
Text pasted into any calculator on the site is processed entirely in your browser. It is not transmitted to our servers, not logged, and not stored anywhere outside your device's memory. Some tools save a short list of your recent inputs in localStorage on your own browser so you can revisit recent analyses; you can clear it at any time using the "Clear history" button on the tool page or by clearing site data in your browser.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our analytics provider (Google Analytics) automatically receive standard request data: your IP address, user agent, referring page, and the page you visited. We use this to understand which tools are popular and to detect abuse. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymise IP addresses where the feature is available.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses cookies and local browser storage for:
- Site preferences. Your theme (light/dark) and chosen language are stored in localStorage on your own device.
- Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies to count unique visitors and measure session length.
- Advertising. Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads. See "Third-party services" below.
- Abuse prevention. Cloudflare may set cookies to distinguish humans from bots.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not break the calculators — they don't depend on cookies — but it may affect how ads are personalised.
Third-party services
We rely on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it processes data it receives:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and bot mitigation. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics — anonymised traffic measurement. See Google's privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — display advertising. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — CAPTCHA on the feedback form to block automated abuse.
- Email delivery — when you send feedback, the message is forwarded to our inbox via an email provider. The provider sees the message contents and your email address (if you supplied one) only for the purposes of delivery.
Advertising
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on Redmoon Calculators. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (EU/UK/California, in particular), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information held about you. Because we don't operate user accounts and don't store the text you analyse, the only data we typically hold that could identify you is feedback you have voluntarily sent us. To request deletion of feedback you sent, send a new message via the button using the same reply-to address you provided originally.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when something changes — adding a new third-party service, changing how the feedback form works, that kind of thing. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
