Etsy Fee & Profit Calculator

Free Etsy fee and profit calculator. Enter item price, shipping, cost of goods, and Etsy's listing, transaction, and payment-processing fees; outputs net profit per sale, margin percentage, and a monthly profit projection.

Quando usar

Use before listing a new product, or whenever Etsy's fee structure or your supplier costs change, to confirm your price still leaves a healthy margin.

Como se compara

Etsy's own fee breakdown appears line-by-line after each sale, but this calculator lets you test prices and quantities before you list, instead of finding out your margin after the fact.

Enter your values below. Calculations run locally as you type.

Como funciona

Revenue per sale = item price + shipping charged to the buyer, since Etsy's transaction fee is calculated on that full amount.

Fees = listing fee + (revenue × transaction fee %) + (revenue × payment processing %) + processing flat fee + (revenue × ad spend %).

Net profit = revenue − item cost − actual shipping cost − fees. Monthly profit multiplies net profit per sale by your monthly quantity.

Perguntas frequentes

What fees does Etsy actually charge?

A $0.20 listing fee (renewed every 4 months or when an item sells), a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and a payment processing fee of about 3% + $0.25. Sellers over $10k/yr trailing sales may also be enrolled in Offsite Ads at 12–15% on those referred sales. Rates change occasionally — verify current numbers on etsy.com/sell.

Why does the transaction fee apply to shipping too?

Etsy charges its 6.5% transaction fee on the total amount the buyer pays, which includes the shipping charge, not just the item price. That's why this calculator adds price and shipping together before applying fee percentages.

How can I raise my margin?

Raise your price, reduce COGS or actual shipping cost, or cut discretionary spend like Etsy Ads. Because payment processing has a flat $0.25 component, raising your price also slightly improves your percentage margin since the flat fee is diluted across a bigger sale.

Is the $0.20 listing fee per sale or per listing?

It's charged per listing, per 4-month renewal period or automatically whenever the listing sells and Etsy renews it. This calculator treats it as a per-sale cost since renewal-on-sale is the common case for made-to-order sellers.

Exemplo prático

Entrada

$25 item, $5 shipping, $8 COGS, $4 actual shipping, 20 sales/mo, default fees.

Saída

Revenue $30.00 → fees ~$3.16 → net profit ~$14.84/sale (49.5%), ~$296.80/mo.

Revenue ($30) minus item cost ($8), actual shipping ($4), and total fees (~$3.16 from listing, transaction, and payment processing) leaves ~$14.84 profit per sale, times 20 monthly sales.

Erros comuns

  • Doesn't account for Etsy Ads unless you set the ad spend % yourself — leaving it at 0% assumes no paid promotion.
  • Fee percentages and flat amounts can change — verify current rates on etsy.com/sell before relying on this for real pricing decisions.
  • Doesn't include sales tax, which Etsy usually collects and remits separately and doesn't affect your seller payout.
